What we provide

SkillOptimizer is a tool to analyze agent skills for security risks and to test whether routine work can be moved out of the prompt into reliable helpers. We give one of three answers per skill: less busywork, same results; this skill is best kept as it is; or we can't test this one fairly.

You can check a skill without signing in. Measured tests require sign-in and have a daily free allowance.

The license rule

Your skill's license determines what we can do with it.

  • If the license allows changes, we can improve it and you can use the improved version.
  • If the license does not allow changes, we won't improve it. The security review still applies.
  • If you paste skill text or upload a file, we treat it as your own work and can improve it regardless.
  • If you share a public link with no license, we treat it as changes not allowed.

In all cases, the security review is separate and applies regardless of whether improvement is possible.

Our analysis is a suggestion, not a guarantee

SkillOptimizer analyzes skills statically and tests them on sample tasks. An improved skill means our test showed fewer tokens with the same results. It does not guarantee your skill will cost less or work better on your tasks.

A "keep the original" result means we found no profitable optimization, or that improvement would break something. Use your own judgment before changing anything.

Intellectual property

Your original skill remains yours. We do not claim any rights to it.

SkillOptimizer itself is licensed under Apache-2.0. That license does not apply to the skills you check or the improvements we generate from them.

What we do not do

We do not access your repositories, run skills in production, or make any changes to your codebase.

When you run a measured test, your skill runs in an isolated sandbox with no network access. The test and results are sent to Anthropic's Claude models for evaluation and grading.

Liability

SkillOptimizer is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that our analysis is correct, that an improved skill will be cheaper in your use case, or that your skill will work the same way after improvement.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages from using this site or our analysis.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
